Reading That Putt

The same putt - same distance, same slope - will read differently according to the conditions. In dry conditions with the grass shaved really short you will putt softly, gravity will have more time to affect your slower moving ball, producing increased break. Conversely putting more firmly to compensate for wet conditions or longer grass your break will be reduced.
