You know this shot....you make contact with the ball,but it is nowhere to be seen ahead of you!Instead it has been propelled more sideways than forwards,the result of contact being made with the hosel of your club.
Often it is caused by standing too close to the ball at address, in mid swing reflexively adjusting to compensate to give yourself more space ,and consequently approaching the ball on an out-to-in line.
The solution is straightforward : take great care over your setup,leaving yourself sufficient space for a smooth confident swing through, and good square contact between clubface and ball.
